Overview
Updates are signed offline packages. Your administrator decides when to install them. Synexas provides guidance and works on site when invited. Release timing, the installation window and support coverage are agreed for your deployment.
Release cadence
| Type | Typical frequency | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| Security update | As needed | Fixes to the operating system or software |
| Model update | When you choose | A new or replaced model you have approved |
What an update package contains
- The new software version
- Release notes listing every change
- A digital signature checked by the installer before installation
- Installation instructions
Packages are delivered on physical media, or your team can download them on a separate internet-connected computer and transfer them using your approved process.
Checking a package before installing
- Read the release notes.
- Use the approved installer, which verifies the package signature and rejects an invalid signature.
- Scan the media using your standard process.
- Approve the update in your change management process.
Installing
Your administrator can install the update. Our engineers work on the system only when you invite them, on site, with access you grant and remove.
- Agree an installation window and any interruption with your team.
- Follow the instructions supplied for your system and version.
- If verification or installation fails, stop and report the failure. Do not bypass verification or assume the update succeeded.
- Check the installed version and run the agreed acceptance tasks before resuming use.
Update log
Your team reviews local audit records alongside its change-management records. Event scope, retention and export formats are agreed for your requirements.
